I'm very sad about all of this and slightly disillusioned. I can't help but think that my sorrow must be exponentially more painful for all clergy and ministry members. I'm not trying to diminish the losses of parishoners like myself, but the closer you are to the open wound, the worse the pain. The dull ache and melancholy I feel is what makes me feel worse when I think how much it must pain those who are trying to carry on despite all the politics. How much energy it must take to endure the attacks and the losses. I can't help but learn so much from this though. I'm getting a glimmer of what joy in pain means. I'm pained that the Body has been ripped, but I'm joyful that the pain has made me realize the pain of others who have been ripped with the Body. If I hadn't felt sad about this, I wouldn't be able to empathize with the ones who've been torn and wouldn't have known what to pray for. I've prayed unity and "one catholic and apostolic" prayers for quite some time. It finally has become something that I can pray deeply about. So joy in pain, what a perfect contradiction. It finally makes a little sense to my tiny mind.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16476603416688167032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1868721548415180363.post-75611482656397583822013-06-05T12:10:52.296-07:002013-06-05T12:10:52.296-07:00Dear "Anonymous"--Well, you care, I care...Dear "Anonymous"--Well, you care, I care, many others care. Perhaps there are those among the ones who left who do care, also, but they obviously don't care enough (about fracturing the Body further) to turn around. Or maybe some feel "caught up" in the outward flow. Or maybe some of them have taken the word of others and jumped on the hate-wagon. I have received as many private messages as I have public comments on this blog, because some are fearful for their careers. It is truly, truly sad. Tragic. This did not have to happen.AxTwoSix by Chris Huffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12656665388806618818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1868721548415180363.post-78613893831061139232013-06-05T11:24:20.796-07:002013-06-05T11:24:20.796-07:00This is a sad mess and a huge blemish on the Body....This is a sad mess and a huge blemish on the Body. I cannot count the number of folks who have said to me,"This is one reason I want nothing to do with the church." Right or wrong, it has been OUR WITNESS, and for that, I feel sorrow.

If every one who is considered an "unrepentant sinner" was removed from the church, the pews would be empty.

Removing the log from my eye is painful and time consuming, but necessary for me to see clearly according to Jesus. Jesus went as far as saying that the fact that one "thinks" he/she sees is why they remain blind.

I don't know if it's true or not, but what saddens me perhaps the most, is that folks have fractured and divided and no one seems to care. Would that believers would do their inner work. Perhaps then they would have less time to worry about others.AxTwoSix by Chris Huffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12656665388806618818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1868721548415180363.post-49166598746873996492013-06-04T07:58:38.567-07:002013-06-04T07:58:38.567-07:00Very interesting reading Chris. Sadly, in my own personal opinion and based on direct words spoken in my presence and to me by a few from the breakaway group, the love seemed suddenly and painfully missing. Words and facial expressions made it clear to me that I was viewed as "unclean" by virtue of my affiliation with TEC. So needless and so sad that this has happened. I am a member of TEC and assure all that I am a Christian. As to any label of "unclean" I can only say that Jesus loved and moved among them, touching them, healing them, and filling them with His grace. There really is not nor should not be an "us" versus "them." Jesus died for all.Martha L Shawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05398572765833805360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1868721548415180363.post-44207028367196648792013-06-03T15:06:07.185-07:002013-06-03T15:06:07.185-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Martha L Shawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05398572765833805360noreply@blogger.com
